SUNDAY MORNING UPDATE: unfortunately, the Park has reclosed the road between Park HQ and Rim Village (see below).
At this time, we feel this experience will not be reliability fun or particularly safe.
We have a few open dates available on our Winter Calendar to reschedule.
Until then, make sure to rsvp to our Winter Newbie Rally this Thursday!
NOON, SATURDAY UPDATE: as always, Rushmore tracks travel and weather conditions for our Outdoor Winter Adventures.
The road to Crater Lake Village has been opened (though not to the Rim), which is fine for our trip as of now.
If you are not RSVP’ED to the Facebook page, please check back here, on our website, for a last update at 9 am Sunday to confirm overnight weather conditions are still favorable.
Thanks!

I’VE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE: sweet, snowshoeing is pretty easy, and a great workout.
Our experienced leaders and walk you through the basics on the day of the event.
HOW DOES CARPOOLING WORK: if you have a snow-worthy vehicle, and wish to drive, awesome.
If not, we combine carpooling forces.
Carpooling is organized at the event connection point. Gas moneies are appreciated for drivers.
WEATHER CONDITIONS: outdoor adventures inherently require safe and fun weather and travel conditions. Rushmore may reschedule any outdoor adventure based on weather, travel or participation.
Please re-check this event page, and/or the Facebook event page, for updates 12-24 hours before ANY and ALL outdoor Rushmroe Adventures.

FULL ROUTE DESCRIPTION:
Our 2024 Winter Adventure series is designed to get you out the door, exploring and discovering Southern Oregon, while getting healthy and meeting new fun friends in the snow.
FITNESS LEVEL AND ROUTE: We cover 4.5 miles, as we begin at the Village Rim Lodge and skit the edge above Crater Lake, finishing up on a fun little sledding hill, before returning to the parking lot.
Weather plays a BIG role in how challening this Adventure is.
Calm and cool, perfect. Windy and stormy, rough. Follow this page, and/or Facebook Page for updates.
IF SNOW CONDITIONS ARE CHALLENGING:
We can also begin from the lower parking lot, for a climb up to the Rim via the Raven Trail, which is indeed incredible, and more challenging. This adventure is available when the road to the Rim is impassable.
If you have questions about our route, required fitness levels, and general participation, just hit us up on Facebook or email.
As always, the Rushmore Society is a social organization, not an outdoor guide group, so shoe at your own risk.
