MORE ABOUT THE HIKE:
We will park all cars at Callahan’s Mountain Lodge, and then send two cars up to the top, leaving one at trails end, so that this is a one-way hike.
Head up to Mount Ashland and the Pacific Crest Trail for a beautiful 4.5 mile jaunt at the base of Mt. A. From that point, we can go as long and far as we wish. The trail provides great views of Shasta, fall wildflowers, the tip top of Mt. A.
Travel along with the Society as we pass through a mixed conifer forest, interesting granite rock formations, small mountain meadows, large cirque basins blanketed with columbine, scarlet, Indian paintbrush, lupines and mountain gentians.
Boom, Sunday Funday.
