FITNESS LEVEL: Moderate 4.5 mile round trip*
CARPOOL SPOT: inside Luna Cafe, fireplace
CARPOOL MEET UP: 9:30 am
CARPOOL DEPARTURE: 9:50 am
RETURN TIME: 4:00 pm
WHAT TO BRING: Layers, gloves, hats, lunch, water, camera

COMPLETE EVENT INFORMATION:
Our 2020 series continues with a venture up to Lake of the Woods for a moderate 4.5 mile trek around this Southern Oregon gem. Our Trek is moderate and flat, skirting the Lake and weaving between pines and spruce trees.
POST-SHOE: we’ll eat up at the LOTW Resort BBQ joint. Toasty warm fun!
CARPOOLING: Have a snow-worthy vehicle? Want to drive? Our day begins inside Luna Cafe near their toasty fireplace. Connect here, then drive yourself or hop in a snow-worthy vehicle.
**Note: we can only 100% guarantee seats for our official members, but this is rarely a problem. Chains may be required.
CHALLENGE LEVEL: You must be in good physical condition to complete this snowshoe. Overall, the route is mostly flat and moderate. Questions, just ask us!
SNOWSHOEING INFORMATION:
GENERAL SNOWSHOEING: Snowshoeing is easy to learn, and can provide a great little workout to boot.

As always, the Rushmore Society is a social networking organization, not an outdoor guide group, so shoe at your own risk.
RENTAL INFORMATION:
SNOWSHOE RENTALS: We suggest the following local businesses to rent snowshoes from: Mountain Provision in Ashland. The SOU Outdoor Program in Ashland. Blackbird Ski Shop in Medford. And, if you wanna go corporate, REI in Medford.
All have tons of rentals available.
WHEN TO RENT: Look to rent the evening before, as most shops open at or after our departure time. Check closing time of your preferred shop.
COST: Usually runs about $10-15 at most shops.
