Rushmore invites ALL our members to our famous Adventure Events in 2024!
Every month, Rushmore provides adventurous opportunities to get out and explore Southern Oregon.
This year includes 3 snowshoes, cosmic sledding, 3 rafting trips, Klamath Lake canoeing, Crater Lake Ziplining, rock climbing and mountain biking days, and our famous 16-hike series — so join us today!

RUSHMORE SNOWSHOE BASICS:
WHO: Members & +1 Guests
VIBE: Fun – Adventurous – Supportive
WHAT TO BRING & WEAR: Snacks – Water – Camera – Smile – Sunscreen – Hat – Lots of layers as you can begin cold, and heat up very quickly while ‘shoeing.
I’VE NEVER DONE THIS BEFORE: sweet, snowshoeing is pretty easy, and a great workout.
Our experienced leaders and walk you through the basics on the day of the event.
HOW DOES CARPOOLING WORK: if you have a snow-worthy vehicle, and wish to drive, awesome. If not, we combine carpooling forces.
Carpooling is organized at the event connection point. Gas moneies are appreciated for drivers.
WEATHER CONDITIONS: outdoor adventures inherently require safe and fun weather and travel conditions. Rushmore may reschedule any outdoor adventure based on weather, travel or participation.

Get-N-Gear rents cross country and snowshoes. You can call them at 541-482-5181 (this is also a great place if you are looking for used gear, clothing, etc.)
MOUNT ASHLAND SPECIFICS:
FITNESS LEVEL: Moderate
MEET: The Lower Luna Cafe Parking Lot is our connection point for most southern valley adventures.
Simply enter the Ashland Hills parking lot, and stay right, downward slope about 50 yards, and look for a crew of cool people hanging out.
SNO PASS CAR FEE: $7. If you plan to drive your own vehicle, you must purchase a parking pass at the Mount Ashland Lodge at top of mountain, or at BiMart, REI, and many other outdoor stores beforehand.
FULL DESCRIPTION:
Our 2024 Winter Adventure series is designed to get you out the door, exploring and discovering Southern Oregon, while getting healthy and meeting new fun friends.
FITNESS LEVEL AND ROUTE: We cover 4.5 miles, which may include either a flat trek out to Grouse Gap, or sometimes a climb to the summit of Mt. Ashland.
Weather plays a big role in how challening this Adventure is.

CHALLENGE LEVEL: While you must be in good physical condition to complete this snowshoe, depending on the route chosen by the group, you may be climbing uphill for approx 1 mile.
ROUTE OPTIONS:
Our basic route begins at the Mt. Ashland back parking lot, and takes us along the Grouse Gap Ridge, which remains mostly flat and clear.
If conditions allow, the group may decide to summit the backside of Mount Ashland. This will be decided before the Adventure begins, if possible.
