OUR FULL MOON ADVENTURE:
This special MEMBERS-ONLY event is why you joined Rushmore! Snowshoeing under the Southern Oregon stars is a special experience.
Our 2021 series continues with a full moon venture up to the backside of Mount Ashland. We’ll cover a moderate 4 mile out-and-back. The Reward; Mt. Shasta and south valley views, under twinkling Southern Oregon stars.
CARPOOLING: Have a snow-worthy vehicle? Want to drive? Drive yourself or hop in a snow-worthy vehicle. This is organized at Luna. Please stay up-to-date on the Facebook event page.
** Note: we can only 100% guarantee seats for our official members, but this is rarely a problem. Chains may be required.
** Due to Covid, carpooling will be more limited than past years. Only drive with people in your social “bubble”.
CHALLENGE LEVEL: You must be in good physical condition to complete this snowshoe. Overall, the route is mostly flat and moderate, but does contain one steady uphill climb, and can be for difficult if snow levels are fresh and high. Questions, just ask us!
ROUTE OPTIONS: Our basic route is an out-and-back along the backside of Mt. A.
A full moon lights our way as we experience the silent, dreamlike environs of the our favorite peak.
If conditions allow, and all participants are up for it, we may continue all the way to the top of the mountain. Otherwise, we will stay along the rim. Either way, a wonderful evening.
GOT QUESTIONS: just message us if you have any questions about this Adventure.
SNOWSHOEING INFORMATION:
GENERAL SNOWSHOEING: Snowshoeing is easy to learn, and can provide a great little workout to boot.
If you have questions about our route, required fitness levels, and general participation, just hit us up on Facebook or email.
As always, the Rushmore Society is a social networking organization, not an outdoor guide group, so shoe at your own risk.
