TOP TEN QUESTIONS

FAQ’s and your questions answered

1. WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF RUSHMORE?

Two reasons: meet people and do things outside our normal routines.

We provide opportunities to make connections beyond co-workers, old friends, and the bar scene.

We are none of those things.

We are a “Third Place.”

A place to find positive, active people, and connect with them through unique experiences, fun and events that build a new network for you while exploring our region.

2. WHAT TYPE OF EVENTS DOES RUSHMORE DO?

Our niche? Everything!

We have three event categories, Adventure, Connection and Play, and hold up to 12 events a month.

So, in one week you might hike, wine taste and play kickball!

Along the way, you’ll discover cool new places and things to do, meet local business owners, and learn all about what Southern Oregon has to offer!

3. HOW DOES RUSHMORE CONNECT PEOPLE?

We believe our events make meeting people fun instead of awkward.

How?

Because when you’re doing something, the ice is broken, bonds are created, and connection is easier.

4. WHO IS RUSHMORE FOR?

New to the area, or just looking for something new?

Then Rushmore is perfect for you!

We get lots of transplants. We get lots of people wanting a new scene. We get empty-nesters or people who’ve exited a relationship. We get people ready to branch out.

In short, if you’re into NEW, we’re like YOU!

5. IS RUSHMORE A DATING “THING”?

Absolutely not.

It’s actually uncommon, but sometimes guys and gals come to the Society looking to date. We are chalk full of interesting, active people after all.

Unfortunately, they are usually disappointed because our vibe explicitly platonic.

However, if dating important to you, your participation in Rushmore usually makes you more attractive to people by virtue of your interesting experiences and expanded connections!

6. AM I TOO OLD OR TOO YOUNG? WILL I FIT IN?

Rushmore is an eclectic mix of people.

Our youngest member is 21. Our oldest is 62.

All members have one thing in common—they are young at heart and generally desire to try new things and meet new people.

7. SO, THERE’S A MEMBERSHIP?

Yes.

To create sustainability and provide up to 12 events a month, each member contributes either $11, 17 or 27 dollars a month.

8. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MEMBERSHIP?

Convenience, variety, discovery and savings.

Come to an event or ask us a question!
